- Subway alternative: From Max-Weber-Platz, ride 2 stops to Marienplatz, change to the U3/U6, and ride to Goetheplatz or Poccistraße to arrive directly at the quieter south entrance (Oide Wiesn).

More Than Beer Mugs and Roller Coasters
Anyone wanting to experience the Wiesn away from the usual classics should pay a visit to the Oide Wiesn: historic rides, nostalgic stalls and traditional beer tents create a charming retro atmosphere. Pure adrenaline is guaranteed by the Olympia Looping with its five loops, while Willenborg’s Ferris wheel, standing 50 meters tall, offers what might be the most beautiful view over the Wiesn. And for anyone who prefers Bavarian tradition to high-tech thrills, the Teufelsrad (Devil’s Wheel) is an absolute must.
JAMS insider tip for the Wiesn: Start with a Bavarian Wiesn buffet, then head to the Theresienwiese, follow it up with a ride on the Ferris wheel, and finish with original Wiesn draft beer at JAMS. That’s what a perfect Oktoberfest day sounds like.
