In the Heart of Haidhausen
JAMS Design Hotel awaits you in the heart of Haidhausen, one of Munich’s most beautiful and trendy districts in an upscale neighbourhood and within walking distance of the banks of the Isar and Munich’s Old Town. With the Philharmonie in Gasteig just around the corner and the legendary Blitz Club, Muffatwerk and long-established jazz club Unterfahrt only a short walk away, JAMS is a cosmopolitan insider tip for music lovers, travellers and locals alike.
PERFECT CONNECTION
The centre of Munich is literally at the feet of JAMS boutique hotel! And if you don’t want to walk, you can reach your destination quickly and easily by public transport. Just around the corner is the Gasteig tram stop, from where you can take line 17 to the Isartor in just two stops or go directly to the Munich Pinakotheken in Maxvorstadt. Here’s a little insider tip: The legendary Tram 19 leaves from Max-Weber-Platz (800 metres from the JAMS Boutique Hotel), which stops at many tourist attractions and is perfect for a little sightseeing tour! The Rosenheimer Platz S-Bahn station is also only 600 metres from our hotel. From here, the S1 and S8 trains travel to Munich Airport (journey time just under 35 minutes), and the main railway station can be reached in about five minutes. Alternatively, an exclusive limousine service is available to our guests, offering an airport shuttle at a fixed price of 115 euros.
OPEN AIR FITNESS AREA
Only a few metres away from the JAMS Boutique Hotel, the Isar river with its extensive parks awaits you – here you will find the most beautiful running and cycling routes along the Isar and into the English Garden. In summer, the clear river invites you to swim. Or use the extensive Isar meadows to relax and enjoy the urban city beach feeling. Diagonally opposite the hotel is the famous Müller’sche Volksbad, Munich’s first and oldest public indoor swimming pool. Here you can swim in a neo-baroque art nouveau ambience and then treat yourself to a few saunas.
TERRIFIC FOOD AND DRINKS
Haidhausen is an Eldorado for all those who know how to live and let live. From upscale gourmet cuisine to rustic inns, you can dine here according to your personal taste. In addition to the JAMS Restaurant & Bar, there are other first-class restaurants in the immediate vicinity of our design hotel: in the Hostaria Fratelli, Luigi and Rocco Gruosso, two brothers from Basilicata, take excellent care of their guests with modern interpretations of classic Italian cuisine. Friends of the French way of life will be enchanted by the Brasserie Chez Fritz with its nostalgic interior in the style of the 1930s and a delicious menu: In addition to classics such as moules et frites or steak frites, you can also look forward to fresh oysters. Bavarian cuisine is no less recommendable and a must when visiting Munich. We recommend the Wirtshaus in der Au, founded in 1901 and known for its dumplings and jazz music. And of course, it’s not far from JAMS to the beer garden – the beer garden at Wiener Platz (only 450 m away) is one of the most beautiful in Munich and belongs to the traditional Hofbräukeller. And speaking of Wiener Platz: the small market stalls located here are the meeting place par excellence. Our personal favourite is the Fischhäusl, where you can enjoy fabulous fish dishes at moderate prices at bar tables outside during the day. Furthermore, the Biergarten am Muffatwerk, Munich’s first certified organic beer garden, is less than a five-minute walk from the JAMS Boutique Hotel.
NIGHTLIFE, CULTURE AND MORE
Clubbers and barflies are also just a beat away from the action. Right next to the JAMS Boutique Hotel is the Gasteig, Munich’s largest cultural centre including the Philharmonie. But smaller institutions like the Jazzclub Unterfahrt, which incidentally is one of the most important jazz venues in Europe, also offer international programmes. If you are drawn to one of the city’s hippest clubs, you can look forward to the finest electro music at the Blitz Club on Museum Island. But several of Munich’s most popular bars are also located in our district. In short: in Haidhausen there is something for every taste!

Pizza, Pasta & Famiglia! This 50s-style restaurant has a cult following and is a favorite of Munich’s inhabitants – especially on weekends. The menu is primarily Italian with lots of pizza and pasta, but the burgers and brunch are equally acclaimed.
