Summer Events & Festivals

The absolute highlight of the season is the Tollwood Summer Festival, which will take place from June 19 to July 19, 2026, at Olympiapark Süd. Under the theme “With feeling, not just for the sake of it – regaining empathy,” visitors can look forward to a unique blend of culture, art, sustainability, and live music. The popular “Market of Ideas” invites visitors to discover and enjoy international arts and crafts, sustainable products, and organic cuisine from around the world. Over 90 percent of the events are free of charge.

In addition to the festival activities, the city’s many beer gardens attract visitors with their shady spots under chestnut trees, while the Isar River has become a popular gathering place for sunbathers and those seeking relaxation. If you want to experience Munich at its most relaxed, enjoy a summer evening at Flaucher, take a stroll through the English Garden, or explore the charming squares in Haidhausen and the Glockenbach district. After sightseeing, the cozy terrace at JAMS Restaurant & Bar is the perfect place to unwind.
